JoJo Nieves is a songwriter, producer, and musician based in Seattle, WA. Drawing inspiration from Indie Rock, New Americana, and Modern Folk, Nieves creates music that is both easily accessible and uncompromisingly vulnerable.
Shortly after moving to Seattle from Arizona in 2016, Nieves met drummer and recording engineer Andrew Lapinid. The two quickly became friends and began collaborating at Lapinid’s studio in Edmonds, WA. In the fall of 2019, Nieves released his first pair of singles titled The Home Sessions. As the world began to shut down in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic the following year, Nieves took to documenting his own quarantine experience though songwriting, which resulted in the release of his second single "The Bitter End." In October 2020 he released his third single "Confessions," a 1960's-era protest song that serves as an unflinching critique of complicity in American society today.
In January 2022, Nieves released "Emerald City", a love letter to his hometown of Seattle and an earnest examination of the effects of gentrification in cities across the country.
